Multiple Artists Picture Book Gallery of the Reader Collection of Japanese Flower-and-Bird Art

In 1751 Shumboku Ōoka edited a picture book entitled Gashi Kaiyō (i.e., Essentials of the History of Painting). It included the eighteen pictures of flowers and (or) birds shown in this gallery. Click on a picture to enlarge it. These pictures were uncolored, woodblock-printed copies of paintings by famous Japanese artists.
